Conference „Preparation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the Union Civil Protection Mechanism“
Conference „Preparation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the Union Civil Protection Mechanism“ took place in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday, 12th of December 2019. Main objective of this Conference was to present conducted activities within the Project so far and its results.
Participants on the Conference were representatives of diplomatic core and international institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, representatives of municipality, cantonal, entity and state government and civil protection authorities as well as representatives of the academic community.
Participants have been greeted by Mr Damir Trut, Assistant Minister of the Interior Republic of Croatia on behalf of the Civil Protection Directorate, Mr Edin Garaplija from the Association for Risk Management AZUR, Mr Nicolas Bizel from Delegation of the European Union in B&H and Mr Idriz Brkovic on behalf of the Ministry of Security Bosnia and Herzegovina.
From 1st of March 2019, Project „EU 4 Better civil Protection – Capacity building and preparation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Union Civil Protection Mechanism“ is implemented by Ministry of Interior Republic of Croatia as Consortium leader with partner from Bosnia and Herzegovina Association for Risk Management AZUR, chosen through international call from Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Project duration is two years (2019 – 2021) and is fully funded by the European Union through Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) with budget of around 1.5 million EUR dedicated for trainnings, exercises, plans, assessments and other documents. Beneficiaries are Ministry of Security Bosnia and Herzegovina, Federal Administration for Civil Protection Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic Administration for Civil Protection Republic of Srpska, Department for Public Safety Brcko District and local communities.
